Dr Abi Sundaramoorthy, MD

Dr. Abi Sundaramoorthy is the Executive Vice President of the Clinical Enterprise at Somatus, Inc. Somatus provides integrated care for patients with or at-risk of developing kidney disease. She served as Chief Medical Officer at University Hospitals, Conneaut Medical Center from 2016-2019 prior to her system leadership role. Prior to joining Somatus, Dr. Sundaramoorthy served as System Clinical Value Officer at University Hospitals Health System. In her role, Dr. Sundaramoorthy led High-Reliability Medicine, working with the Department of Operational Effectiveness in reducing variable cost per case in medical care, as well as optimizing revenue through evidence-based clinical decision support to reduce care variations. She also led the clinical operations arm of the CMS Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced Program at University Hospitals ensuring evidence-based decision making to optimize the next site of care and reduce readmissions. In her role as the system lead for patient safety, Dr. Sundaramoorthy is responsible for the management system of a High-Reliability Organization to create a zero-harm environment.
