Christine Trujillo is a former member of the New Mexico House of Representatives.
A national leader on labor and employment issues, twenty year veteran teacher and labor activist, Christine Trujillo, was the President of New Mexico Federation of Labor-AFL-CIO from 2000 to 2012, one of a handful of women in the labor movement to hold such a high office. She was also President of American Federation of Teachers, New Mexico; and Democratic party leader. Trujillo’s expertise also includes public bilingual education and health care issues. Christine is one of the country’s most prominent Latina leaders.
Her awards are numerous and include the "Si Se Puede" Achievement Award, the Albuquerque Human Rights Award, the "Brindis a la Mujer Hispana" Award, the "Women on the Move" Award, the MANA National Public Service Award, and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce Honored Visionaries in Education Award, 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award-De Colores Hispanic Culture Festival.
