Bio

Charlyn Stanberry is the Vice President of Government Relations. She joins NAB after serving as chief of staff for Congresswoman Yvette Clarke (NY-09), for whom she previously served as legislative director and counsel. She is also an adjunct professor at the Florida International University's Honors College teaching their Washington, DC Seminar.

Charlyn has also served as vice president of External Affairs for Net Communications, counsel for the Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council and as a professional staff member for the Congressional Black Caucus. She served as a regional voter protection director in Florida for the 2016 Hillary for America Campaign.

Charlyn is very passionate about advocating for women's reproductive health, particularly uterine fibroids, a health issue she has dealt with her adult life. Since her background is in legislative affairs, she is grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Policy & Advocacy for the White Dress Project, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing support, education, and hope for people living with uterine fibroids.

A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Charlyn serves in leadership capacities for several philanthropic organizations, including Junior League of Washington, the Washington Bar Association Educational Foundation and GWAC Foundation. In 2021, she received the Visionary Award from ICON Talks and the Outstanding Woman Lawyer in Politics Award from the Women's Lawyer Division of the National Bar Association. In 2020, she received the Lawyer of the Year Award from the Washington Bar Association, the Public Sector Award of Excellence from Women in Government Relations and was named a Top 40 under 40 Nation's Best Advocate from the National Bar Association.

Charlyn holds a J.D. from Florida International University’s College of Law and a B.S.B.A. and M.P.A. from the University of Central Florida.
