Carol Frohlinger is a co-author of Her Place at the Table: A Woman’s Guide to Negotiating Five Key Challenges to Leadership Success (Jossey-Bass/John Wiley, 2010) and Nice Girls Just Don't Get It: 99 Ways to Win the Respect You Deserve, the Success You've Earned, and the Life You Want (Crown Archetype/Random House, 2011). She also co-founded Negotiating Women, Inc., an advisory firm committed to helping organizations advance women into leadership positions.
Carol gives talks to groups and organizations who understand that promoting and retaining talented women is a “win-win-win”— good for women, good for men and good for the bottom line. She shares stories and “lessons learned” from the thousands of women she has helped to become more successful at work by negotiating more effectively — with clients and colleagues, bosses and boards.
Carol has appeared on The Today Show and Fox and Friends among other television. Her advice has been featured by NPR, Martha Stewart Living Radio and The New York Times among other mainstream media. "The Tiara Syndrome", a term coined by Carol and Dr. Deborah Kolb, was cited in Sheryl Sandberg's best-selling book, Lean In. Additionally, Carol has contributed articles to Forbes and the Huffington Post among others.
Carol holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. She lives in New York City with her husband and is the proud parent of a daughter and son. She negotiates with each of them often!
