Bridget O’Connor is the Chief Information Officer of consumer banking technology and operations for Bank of America. Prior to this, she was the CIO global head of Business Continuity for Lehman Brothers. In this capacity, she was responsible for all aspects of technology at the Firm and the operational management of the global business continuity organization. She was also responsible for ensuring the stability and security of the global technology platform, as well as systems development and maintenance, and building and maintaining a world class infrastructure.
Prior to this role, Ms. O’Connor served as the Firm’s chief technology officer and as its global head of eCommerce Technology. In these roles, Ms. O’Connor oversaw the transformation of the Firm's web portal into the standard delivery vehicle for all of Lehman Brothers’ electronic processes, from client trading applications to employee benefits processing. LehmanLive provides a single platform used by all clients and all employees to conduct all aspects of the Firm's business, including the innovative remote access solution built by her team which was credited with restoring Lehman's operations in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy. Prior to joining the Firm in 1991, Ms. O’Connor spent six years at AT&T Bell Labs. She is a 20-year veteran of the IT field, and has contributed to many publications, including American Banker, Business Week, Crain’s, Forbes and Fortune.
Ms. O’Connor is a member of SIA Business Continuity, the Tibco CIO Council, Intel CIO Customer Advisory Council and the HP Customer Advisory Council. She has appeared as a guest speaker for various organizations, including The Bond Market Association, SIFMA, The Department of Defense and venture services community groups. Earlier this year, she was named one of technology’s “top power women” by Forbes.com.
