Azmia Magane is the chief of staff at Muslimgirl.com, the leading website for Muslim women in the West. She is a poet and writer, who started publishing her work while undergoing diagnostics for thyroid cancer. Today, her work is featured in Latina, Glamour, Allure, The Source, The Huffington Post, MTV UK, and more. She holds a Master's degree in social work from the University of Central Florida. Her work often deals with social justice issues, child welfare, mental health, feminism, intersectionality, and issues that affect the Muslim community. Most recently, she wrote and secured the groundbreaking proclamations in which the city of Orlando and state of Florida officially recognized and declared March 27, 2017 as the inaugural #MuslimWomensDay.
