Bio

Anna Massoglia is OpenSecrets' Editorial and Investigations Manager. Her research focuses include "dark money," political ads, propaganda, political nonprofits, and foreign influence. Anna's foreign lobbying research covers all jurisdictions spending to influence the U.S.. Anna earned her J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law in 2015. Before law school, she earned degrees in political science with a concentration in American politics and psychology with honors from North Carolina State University.

Anna previously worked as a research analyst and editor at Bloomberg Tax, where she wrote and edited articles, white papers and other expert content for Bloomberg’s International Payroll Decision Support Network. She has written for the Daily Beast. Anna was one of 200 participants invited by the White House to contribute ideas and opinions at the United State of Young Women Forum in support of the 2016 United State of Women Summit.

In February 2019, Anna started an appointment by the U.S. Treasury Department to be an alternate member of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel, an IRS Federal Advisory Committee that listens to taxpayer complaints, identifies key issues and makes recommendations for improving IRS services.
