Claudia Garcia-Rojas is an expert consultant on issues of gender-based violence, media, and culture. She has thirteen years of professional experience working as an anti-racism and anti-gender-based violence speaker, activist, organizer, and scholar. She is co-author of “Reporting Sexual Violence” an intersectional guide for journalists to better coverage of sexual violence, and co-director of the Chicago Taskforce on Violence Against Girls & Young Women. Claudia is a contributing writer at Truthout and Bitch Media, and provides commentary on issues relating to race, gender, and sexuality on Chicago Public Radio’s Vocalo. She is currently also completing a doctorate degree in the Department of African American studies at Northwestern University.
