That is, you want to get of Stupak? Get rid of the prohibition against federally funded abortions, and work harder for single payer. "Feminists"

"Will progressive groups help feminists stop Stupak?" An intriguing title. Just a few questions here, and as essentially a single payer supporter, and, one who has wondered where a number of feminists have been in terms of progressivism, and in terms of federal funding for abortion for lower income women. Since Jimmy Carter's famous compromise in the name of Jesus.

If healthcare doesn't go through, how many lower income women, or women without access to health insurance will join the 45,000 per year who die due to untreated health conditions? I imagine of "feminists" thinking about abortion rights aren't too bothered about that happening to them with their health care plans. As they play shot put with a lot of other women's health care over other matters.

Also, while "The portion of the premium paid privately by the insured person would pay for the abortion coverage", what about those women who are completely "federally funded"? Once again, biting the proverbial dust, that is.

Without federally funded abortion, abolishing the Stupak amendment has the odd effect of also making the public option -- which so many women will be depending on -- much less competitive.

Lastly, single payer is the best solution for women. But I'm no longer certain that the Stupak amendment or feminism (whose NARAL representatives you mention, by the way, were the first to plunge a sword into the heart of the women's movement by endorsing Barack Obama instead of HIllary Clinton) as used, has anything to do with my interests and goals as an American woman.
