I think one of the most poignant and beautiful literary works to address what it is to be a woman and the burdens faced by women within our society is The Lost Daughter by Daralyse Lyons. It’s a novel but it is told exclusively in the voices of women and I think should be read by mothers and daughters everywhere. Women often victimize themselves and eachother. Read The Lost Daughter. It changed my life!!!

This is phenomenal work. Everything that was said was insightful and articulate, and really delineated what is not “the average teen”. For everyone who stereotypes female adolescents, this should be an eye opener. It really shows that we do not have to follow the superficial, societal norms.

I am so proud of you and the time, devotion, and effort you dedicate to advocating for female rights and education, and changing the way we should be viewed.

I hope you always continue to do this, and I am excited to see what you accomplish. you are amazing.

Wow, you are so incredibly insightful and articulate about the processes and pressures that you are negotiating! What really comes across is the sense that you are profoundly dissatisfied and even disgusted with the technology-driven landscape that is part of your lives.

So what do we do about it? I think getting the word out like this, so smart, such a range of girls’ voices and presence, is definitely a huge step in the right direction.

You know what you don’t want, and you have some good ideas about what you do want. So now what can women and girls do together to push back?

I am excited by what you all have to say and how you are saying it. I think a lot of women have similar experiences and would like to connect to with you push back and put out who/how/what you (and we) want to be.
