Our Progressive Women’s Voices member Jaclyn Friedman has an important column out today called “This Is What Rape Culture Looks Like.” In it she details the allegations against Superbowl-winning Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. A woman has alleged that she was raped by Roethlisberer. The premiere sports broadcasting franchise in the U.S., ESPN, appears to have issued a “do not report” order on the story, and is claiming that this order is in place because no criminal case has yet been filed.
