Sarah Palin, New Republican Vice Presidental Pick to Women: Join Our Cause

Have been watching John McCain’s vice-presidential pick, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, handle herself in her introductory remarks: clearly savvy and sharp, comfortable  on the big stage. Did a deft job of praising McCain, setting out platform. The extremely popular Governor, known for fighting special interests and corruption, has five children, her oldest  son headed to Iraq. Said she wants a President who will make sure he’s safe.

Made a direct appeal to women, especially the disaffected Hillary Clinton supporters.

Sending praises to both Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman to run as Vice President (on the Democratic ticket), and to Hillary Clinton for running a campaign of “determination and grace.”

“It was rightly noted she left 18 million cracks in the ceiling…it turns out the women of America are not finished. We can crack that ceiling once and for all!

She promised: “The next 67 days I’m going to take our message of reform across the country…if  you want change, if you want a better America, come join us join our cause.”

The presidential race just got a lot more interesting!

I have read, with much pleasure, Ms. Jenkins comments about Sarah Palin. I only wish that WOMEN had supported this candidate! For me, Sarah Palin represents the best, as a woman. She’s tough, smart, passionate AND a mother and wife! She actually seems happy and well-adjusted! I will support Ms. Palin in the future, and hope she will RUN AGAIN in 2012.

Thank you, Carol Jenkins, although this original comment was posted in August – wish we could see MORE about Ms. Palin.
